- Heading for BAUMA 98

Participants in this year's annual International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC) will converge on BAUMA 98 in Munich, Germany, on 31 March and 1 April. The 15th ISARC, as it is known, will concentrate its efforts into two days this year to enable participants to visit the numerous stands and exhibitions at BAUMA.

Subjects covered will include the impact of automation and robotics in the construction industry; design of manipulators and the development of construction robots: robot systems; design, construction planning and management; and automation of building construction operations.

Previous ISARCs have been held in Pittsburgh (USA) in 1997, Tokyo (Japan) in 1996 and in Warszawa (Poland) in 1995.

Editor's note: ISARC regularly attracts between 150 and 350 representatives of the world's largest construction companies, construction plant and equipment manufacturers, researchers and academics. It is the only event of its kind and has been held annually without a break since 1984.
