Abstract:

TNO Building and Construction Research is developing an autonomous drilling robot. This robot is to be used for drilling holes for anchor bolts which fasten rail to concrete slabs. Special features of the drilling robot are: it’s high precision and the relative large diameter of the holes it can drill. This paper presents the background of the project, the design of the drilling unit and robot vehicle and the experiments carried out so far.
