Abstract:

Though remodeling and new construction of college facility are increasing in private colleges as a way to improve educational environment and to secure financial resources, operational soundness and financial stability of college facilities are relatively low in comparison to increase in facility investment because of frequent design changes caused by indiscriminate investment and uncertain plan resulting from lack of construction specialists in the ordering organization and insufficient participation of users. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to present an improvement plan to effectively carry out college facility expansion projects for improvement of educational environment and securement of financial resources. For such an objective, we collected and analyzed existing literature as well as documents and data related to design changes made at the execution phase for 6 facilities of actual private college facility expansion projects to draw the causes for the design change through consultation with specialists.
