This paper discusses a survey on construction planning conducted in an attempt to establish a computer- aided support system and identify the newly established system's structure and method for construction planning and scheduling. After videotaping four engineers developing a given construction plan through group discussion, the minutes of the discussions was prepared for analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, the authors discussed the contents and methods of computer-aided support for the development of a construction plan by a group.
