Ger Maas Chairman of European Construction Technology Platform

The European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP) has elected Ger Maas as its new chairman. Mr. Maas is the director of Strategy at Koninklijke BAM Groep nv and professor at the department of Architecture, Building and Planning of Eindhoven University of Technology.

ISARC 2009 proceedings available on-line

The proceedings from the 26th ISARC, held in Austin, Texas, U.S. during June 24-27 2009, are now available on-line. The proceedings include 74 papers authored by leading international researchers in construction automation and robotics who were in attendance at this international meeting. All papers were peer reviewed.

CIB and IAARC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, in which both organizations commit to enhance their cooperation. Both organisations have a worldwide membership, and both aim to support continuous performance improvement of the building and construction sector.

The Proceedings include 124 manuscripts from 22 countries authored by leading international researchers in construction automation and robotics who were in attendance at this international meeting. Tucker-Hasegewa Award to Prof. Miroslaw Skibniewski

During the 24th ISARC held in Kochi, India (19-21 September 2007), the Richard Tucker - Yukio Hasegewa Award, IAARC's highest honor awarded to a researcher in construction automation and robotics, was presented to Professor Miroslaw J. Skibniewski.

New: On-line ISARC Proceedings CDs

IAARC have decided to make available the proceedings from past ISARCs on-line. A first step will be to make the CDs from past ISARCs browsable on the web site. The first CD is already available, containing the proceedings from ISARC 17 that was held in Taiwan 2000. The coming weeks at least one new CD with ISARC proceedings will be made available every week.

ISARC 2004 - a follow-up

ISARC 2004 was successfully held in the beautiful Jeju Island during September 21~25 2004. The total number of presented papers was 131 from 22 different countries including USA, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Canada, Finland, Israel, Poland, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and about 200 people attended the symposium. Following figures show the percentage of the number of the papers in the proceeding and visitors of the symposium.

This conference is the ninth international meeting sponsored by the International Society for Computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ISCCBE). Following the success of several previous ICCCBE conferences in New York (1981), Peking (1985), Vancouver (1988), Tokyo (1991), Anaheim (1993), Berlin (1995), Seoul (1997), and Stanford (2000), the Ninth ICCCBE conference will continue to bring together academics and practicing engineers to promote and exchange ideas, solutions, and experiences across a broad range of A/E/C topics related to Computing and Information Technologies.
