Abstract:

Motivated by the interest of a civil construction company and the very attractive scenario characteristics for the application of Distributed Artificial Intelligence techniques, we are developing MACIV, a Multi-Agent System for Resource Management in Civil Construction Companies CCCC). This system is based on Distributed Artificial Intelligence techniques that allow a completely decentralised managing of the different resources on a CCC. In this paper, the general system architecture is presented and explained. In order to achieve good quality management solutions special coalition formation and negotiation techniques were developed and are also presented. In order to enhance the clarity of the presentation an application example is developed and explained in the final section of the paper.
