Abstract:

The International Organizing Committee of the Creative Construction Conferences (CCC) and the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC) are pleased to present the Proceedings of the 14th Creative Construction Conference (CCC 2025). This event was held from June 14-17, 2025, in Petrčane, Croatia. The 14th edition of the CCC represents a significant milestone in the development of the CCC conference series. Effective in 2025, the CCC conference proceedings are published by IAARC, further enhancing the quality of the publication. A total of 154 abstracts were submitted by the authors, of which 141 were accepted, with the note that the acceptance of an abstract indicates only the approval of the topic, but it does not guarantee acceptance of the full paper. In total, 282 authors from 45 universities and 27 private/public research organizations and firms across 32 countries, including the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, submitted their work that was assessed in a two-step peer-review process. Following this rigorous review effort, 91 papers were finally accepted for publication.

The submission and review processes were supported by seven Area Chairs who covered eight technical areas of interest within CCC: 1) Automation and Robotics in Construction, 2) Creative Construction Technologies and Materials, 3) Creative Management in Construction, 4) Sustainable Construction, 5) Health & Safety, 6) Visualization, Virtual Reality and BIM, 7) 3D printing for Design and Construction, and 8) Creative Scheduling in Construction. The review process involved 63 reviewers. Submission of full papers was required without prior abstract submission, which made the revision cycles more effective. The peer review was conducted in a double-blinded manner. Thirty seven percent of the papers were accepted without modification, and in the rest of the submissions, some revisions were necessary. The peer-review process enabled the selection of high-quality contributions incorporating both full-sized and short papers into the Proceedings. The presentations took the form of plenary sessions for keynote presentations, parallel technical sessions and poster presentations. The CCC continues to be a leading European conference in the field of construction engineering and management. Building on the work of previous technical committees which developed editorial standards, guidelines, and a database of highly qualified reviewers, the most recent Technical Committee has introduced an automated process for generating the Table of Contents and the entire record of the Proceedings. This innovation will benefit the future CCC editions. We hope you will find this year's Proceedings engaging, and the papers highly relevant and stimulating. Enjoy your reading!
